About Edward

A neuroscience-informed persistent pain specialist delivering structured behaviour change and recovery strategy for complex cases

Edward Walsh is a physiotherapist and pain specialist with over eight years of clinical experience and a Master’s degree in Clinical, Social and Cognitive Neuroscience with Distinction.

His work focuses on helping people understand why pain persists and what can be done about it. He combines modern pain science, clinical experience, and practical application to make complex ideas clear, relevant, and useful.

Edward was awarded the Elsevier Award for highest overall mark during his physiotherapy training, and the Academic Achievement Award from the School of Health and Medical Sciences at City St George’s, University of London for achieving the highest overall mark in his neuroscience Master’s degree.

Alongside his academic training, he has completed extensive mindfulness practice, which informs a calm, reflective approach to working with pain and behaviour change. His perspective integrates neuroscience, attention, learning, and the role of the mind–body relationship in persistent symptoms.

He has worked across leading UK clinical environments, including King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, developing a particular interest in complex and persistent pain presentations.

Today, Edward focuses on working with individuals experiencing ongoing pain, alongside education, writing, and speaking. His aim is to bridge the gap between research and lived experience, providing clear understanding and practical direction for those who feel stuck or uncertain.
